Fashion Designer Tommy Hilfiger’s Vibrant Home in Miami || via Architectural Digest

Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and his wife, Dee, relax in the living room of their Miami-area home, which was decorated by Martyn Lawrence Bullard.

The great American graphic designer Milton Glaser once declared, "There are three responses to a piece of design—yes, no, and wow! Wow is the one to aim for." Tommy and Dee Hilfiger apparently endorse that notion. The fashion mogul and his wife have planted their flag on a glorious stretch of beachfront just north of Miami with a home defined by spectacular moments, whimsical flourishes, and astonishing coups de théâtre. In this case wow! might be an understatement.

"We're here for the weather, the Latin flavor, the art, and the palm trees. Most of all we're here for the fun," says Tommy. The residence also provides a base near his latest business venture. Hilfiger, who sold his fashion label several years ago but remains its principal designer, recently purchased the Raleigh hotel in Miami Beach, and he plans to refurbish the Art Deco gem starting in 2015.

Keith Haring sculpture invigorates the poolside terrace, which is paved in Ann Sacks travertine and furnished with Richard Schultz seating by Knoll; the pool and hot tub are lined in Bisazza tile.

In the breakfast area, Vik Muniz's ode to Elizabeth Taylor is mounted near a bespoke Willy Rizzo table encircled by vintage Laverne chairs from JF Chen.

Willy Rizzo–style acrylic stools, cushioned in Mongolian lamb's wool, gather around the kitchen's Caesarstone island; the Robert Sonneman chandelier is 1970s.

A work by Jean Dubuffet is displayed in Tommy's office, whose walls are covered in faux-suede fabrics by Robert Allen and Kravet.

An Andy Warhol Mickey Mouse print is installed in one of the children's rooms, where the walls are striped with a Benjamin Moore red and the bed is upholstered in a Manuel Canovas fabric

A Warhol "Flowers" work hangs in a guest room that's decked out in a dotted wall treatment devised by Martyn Lawrence Bullard and painted in a Benjamin Moore yellow.

Dee's bath has a Kallista tub, a Caesarstone tub surround and counters, and Flux Studios floor tile.
