The SunTrust International Center has just changed hands in a $127 million transaction, making it one of the largest office sales in Downtown Miami this year. The previous owner acquired the building in 2011 for $82.4 million, highlighting how investor demand for well located office properties has continued to grow.

Completed in 1973, the 31 story office tower has long been part of Downtown Miami's financial district. Located at 1 SE 3rd Avenue, it sits among many of the city's best known office buildings and remains one of the defining features of the skyline.

Standing immediately next door is One Biscayne Tower, another Downtown landmark completed the same year. When it opened, One Biscayne Tower briefly held the title of the tallest building in Miami. Designed by Cuban architects Humberto P. Alonso, Pelayo G. Fraga & Associates, and E.H. Gutierrez & Associates, the building received the 1973 Outstanding Concrete Structure in Florida Award and has since earned multiple BOMA TOBY Awards for office building management.

For decades, these two towers have quietly represented the heart of Miami's business district. While Downtown continues to welcome new residential development, office buildings like the SunTrust International Center remain part of the neighborhood's foundation.
