Another year, another Mural. I spotted street artist Alec Monopoly outside Wynwood Yoga Studio working on a new mural right before Miami Art Week 2019.

For this mural he did Richie Rich as Bamm Bamm Rubble riding Dino. Rich Uncle Pennybags as Fred Flintstone. Rich Uncle Pennybags as Mickey Mouse, and Mickey Mouse as Rich Uncle Pennybags.

Unlike other street artists, Monopoly avoids vandalism—often painting on abandoned buildings and warehouses rather than government properties or businesses. His adoption of the board game character Mr. Monopoly as his mascot was inspired by the stockbroker Bernie Madoff and is intended as a criticism of the billion-dollar bailouts and deregulation associated with major banks.
