One of the things I enjoy about Wynwood is that art isn't confined to a gallery. You find it on restaurants, commercial buildings, side streets, and unexpected corners. This mural by Julien "Seth" Malland covered the façade of Wynwood Kitchen & Bar and became part of the neighborhood's constantly changing visual landscape.

Words Travel Fast, Downtown Miami Murals

Words Travel Fast was a public art project by PRIMARY Projects that explored the relationship between text, visual art, and geography. Artists were challenged to create murals using only words: twelve words or fewer, two colors, bold typography, and no references to religion or politics.

I had completely forgotten these photographs until I found them on an old iPhone. What I remembered immediately were the messages. They had a way of making you stop in the middle of a walk through Downtown and think for a moment before moving on.
