A significant development is in progress in Miami's hospitality scene as SLS Brickell undergoes a rebranding and new management by Aimbrigde Hospitality.
In October 2023, the Al Thani family, members of Qatar's ruling royal family, finalized the sale of SLS Brickell for $53.5 million. With 124 keys, this sale underscored the property's value and appeal in Miami's competitive market, averaging approximately $431,451 per key.

The hotel was developed alongside the condominium by The Related Group and Dakota Development in 2016. It first exchanged hands in 2019 for $43M. Now with this new sale, 1300 S Miami Ave. will embrace a new chapter in its history.
What does this mean for guests and visitors? The anticipation is palpable as we eagerly await what Dua Miami Brickell will bring to the neighborhood. One intriguing update is that Black Lion Investment Group, led by Robert Rivani, who acquired the restaurant space at SLS Brickell for $10,000,000 in 2023 his space, will now be home to Rosa Negra, adding a new flavor to Brickell's culinary scene. (This space was formerly Bazaar Mar by Chef José Andrés).

At 1809 Brickell, the past rose to the surface. Not metaphor. Not nostalgia. A burial site. A choice. And a city learning how to remember.
Smartly renovated 1-bedroom layout with soundproof porcelain floors, a clean and contemporary kitchen, and water views that remind you you’re in Miami, even on the most ordinary day. It’s turnkey, rental-friendly, and priced well below newer towers, with a stronger sense of community than most.

Between Brickell Place Marina, Brickell Marina, and a handful of buildings with actual slips, the rules are murkier than most buyers realize. This isn’t about pretty views. It’s about whether you can dock, store, or even find a spot for your boat. If you’re searching “Brickell marina” or wondering which buildings connect to the water in a meaningful way, here’s what that really means — and why true marina access in Miami is rarer than ever.In Brickell, towers keep rising but the water rights don’t. Marina access has become the most unbuildable luxury in Miami, and only a handful of legacy buildings still hold it.
The cost is estimated between $28–32 million, and if you’re a unit owner, your share will probably land somewhere around $10K. It’s not due tomorrow — payments will start in 2026, with financing options. Still, it’s not nothing. Especially for something most people will never see, even though it’s literally what holds the island together.
Closing costs aren’t the most exciting part of the process, but they’re real, and they matter. The more you understand them up front, the less stressful closing day becomes. Budget for them from the start, ask questions, and work with people who actually explain things instead of rushing you to sign.
Brickell Key is one of those places that that feels like a world of its own. It speaks for itself. It’s where people run their loops, walk their dogs, sit by the water and remember why they moved to Miami in the first place. It’s calm, intentional, and beautifully designed — and if you know its story, you know that none of that happened by accident, even if some say it does….
