Historic Brickell Castle to Host Fine Dining Italian Restaurant

Location: 1500 Brickell avenue, Miami FL

If you've ever passed by the charming structure in Brickell, you've likely noticed the ongoing construction, leaving many wondering about the story behind this hidden gem.

The Architectural Legacy:

Nestled across from St. Jude Melkite Catholic Church, the structure known as Le Petit Douy is a testament to the architectural genius of Martin L. Hampton, a celebrated Miami architect. Hampton's legacy includes his collaboration with George Merrick in creating Coral Gables, as well as his contributions to iconic landmarks in Miami Beach, such as the Old Miami Beach City Hall and the Embassy Hotel.

The Exciting Future:

The mystery surrounding the future of this architectural gem is unraveling, revealing plans for an exquisite fine dining Italian restaurant. Mast Capital, the property proprietors, have officially signed a lease with Fabrizio and Diana Bianconi, a dynamic husband and wife restaurateur duo.

Meet the Restaurateurs:

Fabrizio and Diana Bianconi, renowned Italian restaurateurs with a legacy in St. Barts and Los Angeles, are set to introduce their first Miami restaurant, named Bianconi. This elegant establishment is slated to open later this year at 1500 Brickell Avenue, inside a historic French chateau now owned by Mast Capital.

Mast Capital's Vision:

Camilo Miguel Jr., the founder and CEO of Mast Capital, envisions this site as the home for a top-tier restaurant. His acquisition of the property in August 2013, for $2.575 million, was followed by rezoning for retail and commercial uses, along with extensive upgrades that included electrical, air conditioning enhancements, and various renovations.

Bianconi's Unique Offerings:

Bianconi's Miami location is a valuable addition to Diana and Fabrizio Bianconi's portfolio of exceptional restaurant concepts. Their renowned eateries include Via Veneta and Bianconi in Los Angeles, as well as L'Isola and L'Isoletta in St. Barts. The Miami space, thoughtfully designed by Diana Bianconi, features an inviting outdoor garden and a menu that promises to tantalize with homemade pastas, succulent steaks, and delectable seafood.

Exciting Brokerage:

The venture was skillfully brokered by Jonathan Carter at Comras Company, ensuring the successful realization of this culinary vision.

Brickell's Culinary Renaissance:

Brickell has recently witnessed the emergence of several noteworthy restaurants, including Quinto la Huella, the first U.S. outpost of the famed Uruguayan beachfront eatery Parador La Huella, and Coya at 999 Brickell Avenue. Arjun Waney, a renowned restaurateur, is adding to the area's culinary scene with his upcoming project, La Petite Maison at 1300 Brickell Bay Drive.

As the details of this historic transformation continue to unfold, we eagerly await the grand unveiling of Bianconi—an exciting addition to Miami's ever-evolving culinary scene. Stay tuned for more updates on this exceptional project.
